      Adding Trackers in Carousel and Story Creatives

      For a Carousel or a Story creative, which has different slides within a single creative, you have the option to add trackers to measure the clicks on each slide or the whole creative.

       

      Note: You can add different Click Trackers per slide; to track clicks on each slide but cannot add an Impression tracker per slide. This is by design since the DSP impressions only count for the whole ad and not per slide.

      So, if multiple impression trackers are used the numbers from DSP vs client numbers will be very different and create several discrepancies, especially with CTRs.

       

      Please make sure you aren't adding the trackers to the DSP/Ad server, if you already adding it in the Nova platform, just to avoid double firing of the trackers.

      You can add the trackers either in the DSP or in Nova Platform, but we recommend adding them in Nova Platform.

       

      Adding Click Trackers to Per Slide

       

      1. Follow the article on how to build creatives via social import or manual asset upload 
      2. Under the Landing page properties section, uncheck the option "Apply Landing Page properties for Slide 1 to all slides"


      3. Under the Landing Page URL field in each slide (1, 2, 3 etc.), you can paste the different click trackers

      Whenever the click tracker is used in the Landing Page URL field, it will only track outbound clicks i.e. clicks to the destination URL and not Primary Click.

      A primary click is the first unique click on the ad. It can be any type of click, outbound, click to Social post, click to social channel or even a video control-click.

       

      Adding Click Trackers to Whole Creative

       

      1. Navigate to the Trackers section of the creative


      2. Add the Impression Tracker to be applied to all the slides. To learn more about impression trackers, click here



      3. Input the Click Tracker for all slides. To learn more about click trackers, click here



      4. Add the IAS, MOAT, Double Verify code under the Integration Code section

      The Integration code field accepts IAS trackers. An example is shown below:

      The IAS tracker can be extracted by copying from "<SCRIPT TYPE" and onward:

      Any changes to the following require updates in the Nova Creative UI and a NEW ad tag to be generated and trafficked:

      • Impression trackers
      • Click trackers
      • IAS trackers (if added to the Injection Code field)
      • MOAT Trackers (if added to the Injection Code field)
      • DoubleVerify Trackers (if added to the Injection Code field)
