      How to Add Impression and Click Trackers in CTV Creatives

      The trackers that can be added to CTV include:

       

      Impression Trackers

      The most common Impression Trackers are:

      To prevent the trackers from firing twice, please avoid adding them to the DSP/Ad server if you have already added them to the Nova platform.

      You can add the trackers in the DSP or Nova Platform, but we recommend adding them in the Nova Platform.

       

      Any changes to the following require updates in the Nova Creative UI and a NEW ad tag to be generated and trafficked:

      • Impression trackers
      • Click trackers

       

       

      Google Campaign Manager (DDM/DCM)

      • The most common type of impression tracker
      • Only use the Image Tag Tracker URL (after SCR), do not use Iframe tag and JavaScript tag
      • Simply copy the URL and paste into the Start  field in the Nova UI

      Note: A common mistake is to include the quotation character (") when extracting the URL. Ensure there are no quotation marks at the end when copying

       

      • Supported
        • Impression trackers from image tags containing trackimp
      • NOT Supported
        • Impression trackers from iFrame tags containing trackimp
        • Impression trackers from JavaScript tags containing trackimp
      • Add the impression tracker in the Nova Creative UI

      Note: The URL is an impression tracker (vs. a click tracker) if /ddm/trackimp is in the URL

       

       

      Neilsen (DAR)

      • Another common impression tracker
      • Extract the impression tracker URL from SRC="[TRACKER URL]"

      Please ensure you aren't adding the trackers to the DSP/Ad server, if you already add it in the Nova platform, just to avoid double firing the trackers.

      You can add the trackers in the DSP or Nova Platform, but we recommend adding them in Nova Platform.

       

       Any changes to the following require updates in the Nova Creative UI and a NEW ad tag to be generated and trafficked:

      Note: If the click tag contains [timestamp] – it can be left as is

      • Add the URL in the Nova Creative UI

      Note: You can easily tell if the URL is a click tracker (vs. an impression tracker) if you spot /ddm/trackclk in the URL

      • Another common click tracker
